Intracom Telecom debuts Multipoint Terminal Radio for Broadband Access

Systems and solutions vendor Intracom Telecom has announced the introduction of its new WiBAS-Connect Point-to-Multipoint (PMP) terminal radio for residential and SMB subscriber access.

Operating in the 26 GHz and 28 GHz bands, the uniquely featured product will be displayed at the company’s stand number 7B54, in hall 7, at Mobile World Congress, 22-25 February 2016, in Barcelona.

WiBAS-Connect, the most compact and lightweight PMP microwave terminal radio, is the latest addition to the range of all-outdoor PMP Terminal Station (TS) radios. The WiBAS OSDR hub is interoperable with WiBAS-Connect, allowing 60 such terminal devices to be connected. When used with an existing WiBAS network, the TS benefits from the market-leading capacity and advanced networking and radio features. WiBAS-Connect has very low power consumption and delivers state-of-the-art IP connectivity with zero-footprint installations at service locations requiring cost-effective and rapidly-implemented broadband access networks.

WiBAS-Connect is well-suited to deployments requiring low CapEx radio access. It is fully compatible with the company’s software-defined WiBAS OSDR, which offers sophisticated features, robust performance and highly efficient operation for a wide range of profitable business plans.

John Tenidis, Marketing Head for Intracom Telecom's wireless solutions portfolio, commented: “The increasing number of customer requirements and worldwide broadband access market regulatory trends inspired us to develop the innovative WiBAS-Connect terminal device, offering the highest capacity in the market and enabling operators to boost their revenues while providing high-speed connectivity services to their residential and SMB subscribers. Making this product compatible with WiBAS OSDR we ensured that existing network investment is 100% reused”.

Intracom Telecom has been innovating in the wireless access field for over two decades, having successfully developed and deployed its Point-to-Multipoint systems with numerous operators in Europe, Southeast Asia and Africa addressing the constantly growing demand for broadband access services.
