Indonesian telco Telkomsel has signed an agreement with Microsoft to collaborate on exploring the sustainability of generative AI as an accelerator for the development of Indonesia’s digital ecosystem.
Under part of the collaborate agreement, Telkomsel will implement generative AI in ways that boost the quality of its products and services and provide a better customer experience.
Earlier this year in March, Telkomsel signed an MoU with Microsoft to integrate Azure AI into its marketing platforms to improve the customer experience by analyzing data insights, better understanding customer interactions and sentiment, and anticipating future customer behaviors.
The new generative AI agreement was signed last Thursday during Telkomsel’s T-Connext 2023 event, which focused on using AI to enable innovative ecosystems. T-Connext is Telkomsel’s platform to connect various players within its own digital ecosystem as well as external ecosystems so they can collaborate with each other.
At the T-Connext 2023 event, Telkomsel’s Planning and Transformation director Wong Soon Nam urged all players in Indonesia’s digital ecosystem to jointly accelerate growth and development of AI-based innovations.
“At this event, with the theme of AI, Telkomsel through T-Connext seeks to open up more opportunities in optimizing synergy value to create an inclusive and sustainable digital ecosystem, especially encouraging the rate of growth and development of AI-based innovation which can have an impact on progress for Indonesia now and in the future,” he said.
